Orca's Island August 2010 - The Sucia Crew :-)

This was one of the most Wonderful days! Beautiful weather, a Great group, a Wonderful guide and by Nature..........the Beautiful San Juan Islands. Dave & I enjoyed meeting all of you, Jila (our guide), Kelly (Jila's mom), Sally & Debbie, and Katja & Gail. It was also fun that Dave saw Katja & Gail again at our Fave Island Market, Katja, Gail, Sally & Debbie saw & visited with Kelly at Deer Harbor, and Dave & I got some time to visit with Kelly on the ferry back to Anacortes on Thursday. After spending a day like we did kayaking around Sucia, there is a nice bond when the group works well together. A fun connection running into each other again.

I Especially have memories of our day tonight............tomorrow AM we would be meeting & heading out. Here are some pix and 3 videos of our day together. The videos came up Very Well here on full screen. I have never uploaded videos before.......I'm not sure if they can be higher quality on a blog. I can send the video's directly instead if they aren't very good quality.

We Enjoyed meeting you all and hope your travels home were good. Hope you enjoy the pictures. :-) (double click on the pictures to make larger. :-) )

Orca's Island August 2008 - Our Views

We have Spectacular views from our cottage of the water, several islands including Sutia and Matia and a view of Mt. Baker.

Orca's Island August 2008 - The Beach House

We have visited Orca's Island for 4 years in a row now. We stay at The Beach House on Orca's. http://www.rockisland.com/~malpaula/ We have the whole top of the building shown in the picture. There is a separate bedroom complete with handmade quilt and teddy bear, a large bathroom with tub, a Full kitchen with every amenity one could think of including a coffee grinder, often replenished ice, a beautiful bar area that separates the kitchen from the living room which has a couch, 2 chairs and a gas fireplace.

Orca's Island August 2008 - Arriving

We recently returned from 5 days on Orca's Island in Washington state. This was our 25th wedding anniversary trip.

The San Juan Islands are Beautiful this time of year. We often ponder retiring there. However, I suspect the shorter winter days along with cold & wind might not be as appealing as it is in August. We will have to visit another time of year & see.

We fly into Seattle the night before, then drive to Anacortes where we stay at the Ship Harbor Inn for the night. The next morning we take the early (7:45) car ferry from Anacortes to Orca's with a stop at Lopez Island and sometimes Shaw's Island.
